May hits back at Condon

Federation of International Cricketers Associations chief Tim May has challenged Lord Condon to prove his claims that corruption was once rife in the game.
Condon, the head of the ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit said this week that Test and World Cup were "routinely" fixed in the late 1990s and that "more than the Indian sub-continent teams were involved".
But FICA boss May, a former Australian off-spinner, says such claims were made without any foundation and unfairly tarred a generation of players, many of whom he played with.
He said: "Player associations are getting sick and tired of people coming out making these general accusations, the effect of which cast doubts over the entire player base.
"If people are going to make these type of accusations make sure that they are specific and make sure that you have the proof to back up such claims.
"You have to ask the question if the ICC knew such facts and had such information, why was there no retrospective action taken by the ICC or the individual boards?
"To suggest that a whole generation of cricketers knew what was going on is clearly without any foundation."
May did, however, welcome a suggestion by Condon for increased player education about match-fixing issues.
"I can readily agree with Sir Paul in one regard - his belief that players should be more closely involved by the ICC in the search for solutions," he added.
